2020 Porsche Taycan Turbo The owner of this new 2021 Porsche Taycan EV wanted the complete XPEL paint protection treatment. At our Austin, TX, install shop, we treated the Porsche Taycan with three XPEL products. We started with our ULTIMATE PLUS ™ Paint Protection Film ‘clear bra’. The Taycan owner opted for the full-front package, which covers the hood, bumper, fenders, and side mirrors. Next, we applied FUSION PLUS ™ Ceramic Coating over the ppf and rest of the Taycan’s exterior paint. Lastly, all the Taycan’s glass was treated with PRIME XR PLUS ™ Ceramic Window Tint. Porsche introduced a new trim variant and battery options for the 2021 Taycan model year. The new base level offers a rear-wheel-drive Taycan featuring one electric motor instead of dual-motors. The standard battery is 79.2-kWh, and customers can upgrade to an optional 83.7-kWh battery pack. For the Taycan base, the performance can range, depending on battery, from 402-hp to 469-hp. However, at the far end of the spectrum, the top-tier Porsche Taycan Turbo S delivers up to 750-hp. All-wheel-drive Porsche Taycan models feature dual motors, one placed on each axle. Every Taycan model, regardless of trim level, uses Porsche’s two-speed transmission to send its electric instant torque to the wheels and deliver lightning-quick acceleration.
